The People Behind the Project
Europasinfonie is an initiative of the Dresdner Sinfoniker, based in Dresden, Germany — one of Europe’s most distinctive and internationally active orchestral ensembles, recognised with the ECHO Klassik award and the UNESCO Special Prize Welthorizont. With projects ranging from the world’s first remote-conducted concert in 2008 to a transcontinental real-time performance linking three continents in 2025, the Sinfoniker have spent 25 years pioneering precisely the format Europasinfonie now scales to a pan-European level.
Europasinfonie brings together twelve of Europe’s leading orchestral institutions — national flagship orchestras, internationally acclaimed choirs, and ensembles with centuries of combined musical tradition. Each contributes one instrumental or choral ensemble to the distributed orchestra.
