12 Countries.
One Orchestra.

For the first time in history, orchestral musicians from twelve European countries perform together in real time — not as a recording, but as a live, synchronous concert. Sixty-two string players of the Dresdner Sinfoniker take the stage in Dresden. All other instrumental groups and two choirs perform live from their home cities across the continent — the clarinets from Athens, the percussionists from Brussels — connected over ultra-fast fibre optic networks despite distances of up to 2,200 kilometres. Their sound and image are transmitted to Dresden in real time, where they appear life-size alongside the string orchestra on stage. The audience in Dresden experiences a complete symphony orchestra with choir, gathered across an entire continent. The concert is broadcast live to audiences worldwide.

A Concert for a continent

Against the backdrop of a Europe under pressure, the Dresdner Sinfoniker respond with Europasinfonie: a concert for a continent and the European ideal of partnership. The project is a call for ongoing dialogue among all Europeans and a demonstration of European interconnectedness — technologically, artistically, and culturally. Where borders divide, music connects.
